Renée Nienaber is a contract law specialist and experienced litigation attorney who founded the firm after spending nearly 10 years in the commercial, property and litigation department of one of the top IP and commercial law firms in the country. She was admitted as an Attorney and Notary Public on 30 March 2011 and as a Conveyancer on 9 October 2018. She obtained her right of appearance in the High Court during 2014.

Renée is a practicing Notary Public and assists clients with all aspects of notarial work, including the authentication and legalisation of documents and drafting of antenuptial contracts and other notarial deeds.

Her commercial practice covers all aspects of contractual advisory services and litigation, with a specific focus on property transactions, construction and development, restraints of trade, consumer law and franchising matters.

Renée is held in high regard by fellow attorneys for her technical legal knowledge and research skills. She co-authored and spearheaded the South African chapter in the international Dispute Resolution Review published by The Law Reviews for three years (2016 to 2018) and has contributed to a number of articles on contract and franchising law.

Renée’s practical and results-driven approach to law is underpinned by excellent academic credentials. She passed matric (Grade 12 Senior Certificate examination) with 10 distinctions in 2003, received awards for best performance in 11 subject areas during her tertiary studies at the University of Pretoria and was the best final year law student (prescribed modules) of her LLB class in 2008. She passed all four attorneys’ board exams, the notarial exam and the notorious conveyancing exam on her first attempt.

Kallie Wolvaardt is a seasoned litigator and has practised in a wide variety of fields of law since her admission as Attorney on 23 January 1973. She was one of the first attorneys to be granted the right of appearance in the High Court and has appeared on over a hundred occasions before more than 43 Judges in the High Court.

Kallie practiced for her own account for a number of years before linking up with the specialist family law firm of Shapiro & Shapiro (now Shapiro & Ledwaba) where she practiced for 22 years.

Kallie joined Nienaber Attorneys in June 2018. She continues to handle High Court Litigation, particularly divorces and other family matters, and in recent years has shifted her focus to her deceased estates practice, where she has gained a reputation for her ability to successfully handle the administration of complex deceased estates. Her extensive experience in these areas means that she is also well placed to assist clients with estate planning, the drafting of wills and antenuptial contracts.

Kallie is a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Law Society of the Northern provinces and has presided over countless disciplinary enquiries. She received awards in recognition for her contribution to the profession from the Gauteng Law Council on 14 September 2002 and 4 October 2008 and was honoured with the Law Society of the Northern Provinces’ coveted President’s Special Award in November 2013. The Law Society bestowed lifelong membership on her in 2016.
